About Us
We, Mark and Crystal Plummer, are married photographers who live on the beautiful coast of Maine.
We enjoy looking at God’s beauty through the lens of a camera, and capturing that beauty for the world to see.

Artists Statement
Photographs are a lie. I know that is a bold statement for a photographer to make, but when we think about what a photograph is; it is true. When I take a photograph of an item or a scene, I am selecting only one aspect of that view to capture with my camera. What we see in the photographic image is only a split-second slice of what I saw when I took the photograph. We do not see anything outside of that small rectangular space. If we remember that what we are looking at is something that can never be repeated, or seen again, we realize that each photograph that we do see is in essence, a lie. I am choosing what to show you, my viewer, when I focus my camera. Do I want to show you an entire scene, or do I want to select something from that scene and show you just a part of it and let your imagination fill in the blanks? When I do this, I create art. Art, however, is an interpretation of both the artist and the viewer. Nobody perceives things exactly alike.
I love how photography can give a small glimpse of the world that I am seeing. I love the artistic freedom of being somewhere and capturing pieces of what I see to share with the world. Sometimes I see a scene that is so breathtaking that I feel compelled to capture, with my camera, a panoramic of what I am seeing, in an attempt to share the entire experience with my viewer. Sometimes, though, I find a small element that intrigues me, and I feel compelled to trap it inside my camera to share with the world.
My desire is that my artwork leaves an impression with my viewers. Sometimes that impression may be a good impression, and sometimes it may be a bad impression. But that is what makes it art. If someone walks away from viewing my work and does not have an opinion either way, I have failed that person. My job is to help that person form opinions by viewing my photographs. That is what makes me an artist.
